WHO WE ARE
The National Audit Office (NAO) scrutinises public spending on behalf of Parliament. Our vision is to help the nation spend wisely.
MORE ABOUT US
Our financial audit work involves auditing over 475 accounts across government departments and a wide range of other public sector bodies, representing hundreds of billions of pounds. Our work helps save the country millions of pounds a year (at least £10 for every £1 spent running the office). We also publish around 60 Value for Money reports a year for Parliament on the economy, efficiency and the effectiveness with which departments and other bodies have used their resources to deliver particular projects. You could be part of that!
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Every year we recruit around 70 graduate trainees who will have the opportunity to join our professional training programme, culminating in qualification as a chartered accountant (ACA). There is certainly no such thing as a typical NAO graduate trainee. Successful candidates come from a diverse range of backgrounds and may have any degree subject (2:1 minimum and at least 300 UCAS points). There are however, some key competencies that we look for. Check out our graduate recruitment website for details.
