WHO WE ARE
Police Scotland’s purpose and focus is: ‘To improve the safety and well-being of people, places and communities in Scotland; keeping people safe’.
MORE ABOUT US
In these challenging times of austerity, we recognise that we provide policing in a changing social setting. We must work with our partners to ensure everyone has a good quality of life, feels safe and has ready access to the services they need. We police not only in the countryside, towns and cities of Scotland but also in the Northern Isles and the Highlands and Islands, as well as at major community, cultural and sporting events. We can only achieve this by recruiting and developing a quality workforce that fully reflects the communities we serve.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Honesty, integrity and respect for others are a given for any role within the police, but what else we’re looking for is detailed as vacancies arise. For police officers and special constables, no formal qualifications are required but you will be expected to go through a stringent recruitment process. However, it’s the diverse skills and life experience of the people we recruit and develop that helps us deliver the best service possible to everyone. See our website www.scotland.police.uk and the Gay Police Association at www.gpascotland.com.
