WHO WE ARE
We work to protect the public, support victims of crime and rehabilitate offenders. We supervise adult offenders on community orders and prison licences.
MORE ABOUT US
Northumbria Probation Trust operates under the overall direction of the Ministry of Justice. We undertake structured work with offenders to ensure their proper punishment and to reduce the likelihood of re-offending. Our offender managers oversee an offender’s sentence from beginning to end, undertaking risk assessments and developing a comprehensive sentence plan. Work with offenders can include one-to-one supervision, group work and community payback. We work with the police, prisons and courts and play a leading role in protecting the public.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are one of the highest performing probation trusts. Our commitment to people development and promoting equality is evidenced by our Investors in People ‘gold’ and ‘champions’ status. Our Single Equality scheme has been recognised as a model of excellence at regional level. We are looking for staff who can contribute to maintaining these achievements and building on them for the future. We want staff who are committed to making a difference in society and have the skills to challenge and develop some of the most difficult members of society.
