Shetland NHS Board is responsible for healthcare for a population of around 23,000.
MORE ABOUT US
Shetland is 600 miles north of London, where the North Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean, where Shetland ponies come from, and the sweaters and the Vikings. Local hospital and community services are provided from the Gilbert Bain Hospital. Visiting consultants from NHS Grampian provide outpatient clinics as well as inpatient and day case surgery to supplement the service provided by our locally-based consultants in general medicine, general surgery, anaesthetics and psychiatry.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for staff to reflect the remote, rural and diverse communities we serve; you must be highly motivated and committed to providing quality, innovative and patient-centred services. We expect everyone in our workforce to be committed to equality and diversity and to demonstrate that commitment both to colleagues and service users. Our core values include ‘taking account of and valuing diversity, promoting equality, fairness’. Our values are what is important to us, to govern our actions.
