WHO WE ARE
The National Archives is the official archive for the UK Government, and for England and Wales. We are the guardians of some of our most iconic national documents, dating back over 1,000 years.
MORE ABOUT US
Our collection also offers a unique insight into LGBT history, creating opportunities for us to highlight this area of history. Archus, our LGBT staff forum, and external volunteers from the LGBT History Project are taking the lead at The National Archives to unearth, highlight and create greater access to records relating to LGBT history. This has resulted in substantial progress including a new research guide, a series of talks that are podcast and collaborative work highlighting issues surrounding language, terminology and user tagging.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are committed to tackling barriers to employees by creating a culture that encourages respect and values difference. We continually promote lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equality in the workplace through the support we give staff internally and the work we do to highlight the history of LGBT people. We welcome and encourage applicants from a wide variety of backgrounds and value having a workforce made up of people with different experiences and perspectives.
