WHO WE ARE
The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) is responsible for the effective administration of the justice system; the courts, tribunals, prisons and probation services.

The MoJ is responsible for civil, criminal and family justice in the courts and tribunals, for the prison and probation services, as well as the administration of legal aid and the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG). Our objective is to deliver a transformed justice system and transformed department, responsive to the public we serve. A programme of fundamental reform is underway that will result in a revolution in rehabilitation, that will reduce re-offending and provide a clear sentencing framework as well as delivering legal aid reforms.
