QUICK FACTS

WHO WE ARE
With our partners, we provide comprehensive policing services to our local communities to ensure their well-being and physical and legal security.
MORE ABOUT US
In these challenging times, we recognise that we provide policing in a changing social setting and so must work together with our partners to ensure everyone has a good quality of life and ready access to public services. We provide policing not only in Edinburgh but the towns, villages and countryside of the Lothians and Scottish Borders as well as for the Scottish Parliament and major cultural and national sporting events. This can only be done by recruiting and developing a quality workforce which fully represents the communities we serve.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We look for honesty and integrity, excellent communication and interpersonal skills along with the ability to think on your feet (literally) and work well as a team member. Whether applying to be a regular officer or volunteer special constable, no set qualifications or experience are required, though many have degrees or wide life and work experience on joining. We welcome LGB&T applicants as well as minority religious and ethnic and female applicants, and you can get additional support from our staff networks – visit our website.
