WHO WE ARE
A unitary local authority.
MORE ABOUT US
Leicester City Council is a unitary local authority that serves 330,000 people. We provide a wide range of services to the citizens of Leicester. Our city is one of the most ethnically and culturally diverse in the UK. We are proud of our diversity and are bidding to become the UK City of Culture in 2017. We are committed to equality of opportunity and the elimination of discrimination for all people. We support seven employee groups including a long-established LGBT group.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are a fast-growing city with a relatively young population and we face significant challenges – we are the 25th most deprived city in the UK. Can you help us meet these challenges? Our city has an active LGBT community, and we also have one of the last few remaining LGBT centres in the country. One of our priorities is to have a workforce that reflects the city we serve. We have a fair recruitment process and provide a working environment free from harassment or discrimination.
