British Transport Police (BTP) aims to provide a policing service that delivers a safe railway enviroment free from disruption and fear of crime.

BTP’s purpose is to protect and serve the rail network, rail staff and passengers. BTP has consistently reduced crime over the last six years and is determined to maintain that achievement and embrace the challenges of the future. Divided geographically into seven areas and force headquarters, BTP polices the entire national rail network from Penzance to Thurso, Eurostar, London Underground, Docklands Light Railway, Croydon Tramlink and the Midland Metro Tram system. BTP also played a key role in policing the London 2012 Olympics.
