The Army is actively engaged in operational duties across the globe. These duties range from peacekeeping to combat operations. To work effectively, we require highly motivated and skilled people, so we train our staff to work in a number of trades and professions. We also provide lifelong personal development, the opportunity to earn civilian-accredited qualifications and a unique sense of personal achievement. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Innovative? A team player? Keen to challenge yourself? Then the Army could be for you. We welcome applications from British, Irish and Commonwealth citizens aged 17–33 for soldiers, and 18–26 for officers (extended to 29 in certain trades). Fast-track promotions exist for candidates with professional qualifications. Civilians with spare time can work in the Territorial Army. Reserve soldiers and officers should be aged 18–43, with an upper limit of 35 for potential officers. Those joining need to commit to a minimum of 19–27 days per year, depending on their role, in return for which they qualify for a tax-free lump sum.
