‘Being a gay woman working for the council, I’ve found it easy coming out as there are many LGBT staff here. It’s good to have an LGBT workers’ forum within the council, providing support and an opportunity to meet other LGBT people. I’ve found the council flexible in meeting my needs, enabling me to have a good work–life balance.’
